<verse-line style="display:block;">Why has speaking out provoked my imprisonment?</verse-line>
  <verse-line style="display:block;">What therein compelled my confinement?</verse-line>
  <verse-line style="display:block;">Invalid insistence incited anger against me</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">Apparently speaking out is viewed with contempt</verse-line>

<verse-line style="display:block;">Speaking out may be distasteful to some</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">Yet others do not regard it negatively</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">Encountering each other, they hesitate not to embrace</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">So if speaking out stinks, should I shut up?</verse-line>

<verse-line style="display:block;">The rain that fell amidst frightening thunder and lightning</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">In endless quantity from dawn to dusk</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">Offered no benefit to those tilling the land</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">Those tilling the land suffered great loss</verse-line>

<verse-line style="display:block;">Seedlings they had planted were uprooted in the deluge</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">All their hard work came to naught</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">They harvested none of the fruit they anticipated</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">The fruit they anticipated remained beyond their reach</verse-line>

<verse-line style="display:block;">Those who feared the rain, lest it drench their bodies</verse-line>
  <verse-line style="display:block;">Ran hastily for cover</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">While others wouldn’t rest ‘til their homes they reached</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">‘Til their homes they reached and closed the doors shut</verse-line>

<verse-line style="display:block;">Friends, jokes aside, what I am saying truly happened</verse-line>
  <verse-line style="display:block;">It carved a deep chasm, this tremendous storm</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">And the strong currents overflowed in the streets</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">Overflowed in the streets, even after the rain had ceased</verse-line>

<verse-line style="display:block;">When the rain had stopped it was muddy all over</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">Mud filled every road, not leaving a single path clean</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">So inconvenient it was, that we could not discern the way</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">We could not discern the way, due to impassable roads</verse-line>

<verse-line style="display:block;">Though that is how it was, with roads that were impassable</verse-line>
  <verse-line style="display:block;">Still I decided to proceed, despite the hardships</verse-line>
  <verse-line style="display:block;">Little did I know, I would be like a fish</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">I would be like a fish, taking itself onto the hook</verse-line>

<verse-line style="display:block;">I fell on the slippery ground. I did not know how to navigate it</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">Had I been more cautious, I might have avoided what befell me</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">But I will never again walk in that fashion</verse-line>
<verse-line style="display:block;">I will not stop walking, though I will change my approach</verse-line>
