Book Reviewers at Weave

We are looking to build our pool of reviewers for new books about user experience in libraries. Book reviewers should have strong writing skills and knowledge of and/or interest in user experience work within libraries. Previous experience writing book reviews or articles is not required.

Book reviews are published in our Dialog Box section, where we encourage unique and creative approaches to format and style. Here are some possible suggestions for what to include in a review:

- Who is the intended audience and type of library?

- Quality and value of the material for its intended audience

- Comment on the author's affiliation, subject knowledge, previous publication(s), writing style, and approach or point of view

- How does this book contribute to the conversation?

- Critical comparison with similar works

- Areas for future exploration on this subject

For a review assignment, Weave will provide you with a print and/or PDF review copy of the book. We ask for reviews of 700–1000 words. You will collaborate with our team of Dialog Box editors in shaping your analysis of the book and in developing your written review. Book reviews a newer element for us Weave, so we’re not sure yet how many reviews we would regularly publish each year—we’re excited to see what ideas you might have for reviews in Weave.

To be considered as a book reviewer for Weave, please email a current vita/resume with subject line “Weave Book Reviewer” to:
