Are you interested in getting involved in Weave? We're looking for an assistant editor to join our collaborative editorial team that keeps the journal running. Like all positions at Weave, editors are volunteers and work remotely from anywhere in the world. Learn more about our editorial philosophy and meet our team.
The assistant editor will help manage the process of receiving, reviewing, accepting, and editing peer-reviewed submissions. See the job description of Assistant Editor, Scholarly Submissions here.
The main qualification is an interest in and dedication to improving user experience within libraries. And problem solving and communication skills. You might not have edited a journal before, but you'll get guidance from our senior editors and editor-in-chief. We'll make sure you're supported and successful.
We recognize systemic inequities in academic publishing and are developing more inclusive editorial practices. We encourage applications from people of color, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities.
Send a cover letter and CV/resume to David Vess at vessds@jmu.edu by Monday, May 22nd.
