Biography
Trained in philology and performance studies, I approach early modern Chinese literature through a method that bridges textual scholarship with sensory experience and transnational circulation.
My career trajectory has not followed the conventional path of early, unimpeded advancement. As a result, my profile at this stage is unusually expansive. I have completed a first English-language monograph with the University of Michigan Press (2025), established the conceptual framework for two further monographs, and published articles in leading American journals on various subjects from courtesans’ voices to women’s war-shaped poetics, from visual dramaturgy to garden aesthetics.
