Submissions

Hello!

Thanks for your interest in submitting an article to Weave.

We migrated to this submissions platform in August 2020. If you have any issues or questions, contact us at helloweaveux@umich.edu.

Preparing your pitch

Pitch your idea to start the process. We have an editorial team that can help you develop your idea into an article. Even if you already have an article written, we still want to hear your pitch first. We'll let you know if it seems like a fit and we want to read the full manuscript.

To get started:

  1. Download and complete our pitch template. You'll upload this document as a part of the submission process.
  2. Add "voyager.com@mail.janewaysharedhosting.com" to your safe senders list or address book. This ensures you receive our email notifications.
  3. Begin the submission process through the button below. If you're creating a new account, you might hit a bug where you can't log in right away. If this happens, reset your password.

About

Weave: Journal Of Library User Experience is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal for library user experience (UX) professionals published by Michigan Publishing. More about Weave.

Focus and Scope

We're looking to expand UX knowledge across and within libraries of all types. See our editorial philosophy, and decide if you're interested in submitting to our scholarly section or Dialog Box section.

Scholarly submissions

Our scholarly articles go through double-anonymized peer review, meaning author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. Our scholarly submissions team will guide you through the process.

Dialog Box submissions

Our Dialog Box articles are not peer reviewed, but you will get support from our editors to get them into shape for publication. The Dialog Box accepts the following types of submissions:

     - Opinion pieces

     - Case studies

     - Reviews of books and tools related to UX and libraries

     - Letters to the editors

Got another idea? Pitch it! We welcome visual storytelling, research & design artifacts, or other creative formats.
