Become a Reviewer
Dedicated and thoughtful reviewers make essential contributions to the critical, creative, and rigorous scholarly work published by TIA. The expertise and enthusiasm of TIA reviewers has been critical to making the journal a valuable and responsive resource for educational development scholarship and practice. Reviewers are typically asked to review 2-3 manuscripts each year.
You do not need to have published in TIA or have previous manuscript reviewing experience. Reviewers remain eligible to review until they choose to be removed from the pool of reviewers for the journal. The TIA editorial team has compiled a set of resources to help you write quality, formative, and informative reviews.
How it works:
- The TIA Editorial Team reviews submissions and selects reviewers based on reviewer expertise and interest across a variety of areas in the educational development field.
- Reviewers receive an email request with an opportunity to review and respond within 7 days to accept or decline the review.
- Upon confirming they can take on request, reviewers have 30 days to provide feedback, using the resources and templates provided by TIA to guide the process.
- Reviewers provide a recommendation to the Editorial Team for next steps.
- If a submission is revised and resubmitted, reviewers may have an opportunity to provide additional feedback on the development and changes to the work.
- Based on their stated expertise and interest, and the overall number of submissions received by TIA, reviewers may be asked to review two to three submissions annually.
