  2. Prepare your proposal or summary, being sure to address: a) What is the topic/ what is the manuscript (or potential manuscript) about? (b) How does the topic relate to the field of educational development? (c) How does this manuscript contribute to our understanding of the field?
  3. Initiate the submission process and use the document upload section to attach and submit your query.

The following checklist is for authors interested in submitting a manuscript. To submit a manuscript, please:

We encourage you to reach out to TIA editors at any point if you have questions.

Parts of the Query

Each query submission should address: a) What is the topic/ what is the manuscript (or potential manuscript) about? (b) How does the topic relate to the field of educational development? (c) How does this manuscript contribute to our understanding of the field?

Parts of the Manuscript

Each manuscript submission should include 1) a fully blinded manuscript file (named Manuscript) and 2) signed author agreement forms.

  • The manuscript file should include five main sections in this order: title, abstract, keyword(s), body text, references. The title, abstract, and keyword(s) should be on the first page. The body text should begin on a new page. Figures and tables should be placed in-text where they are first introduced. Optional appendices containing supplementary materials should come after the references. To aid the review process, page numbers should be added to the footer, right-justified. More information about each specific section of the manuscript file is found in the style guidelines.
  • Each author must complete an Author Agreement form. All agreements must be included with the submission.

NOTE 1: Since all manuscripts are double-blind peer reviewed, ensure that the manuscript file is fully blinded, containing no mention of authors’ names and affiliated institutions or other identifiable information and that the file contains no identifying metadata.

NOTE 2: If your submission is accepted for publication, we will request an author_information file. This file includes three sections in this order: author list, biography, and acknowledgements (if appropriate). More information about each specific section of the author_information file is found in the style guidelines.

Style Considerations

Authors submitting queries: queries may be as formal or informal as you wish (e.g., they may range in style from a formal abstract to a bulleted list). However, they should contain the content described above.

Authors submitting manuscripts: please refer to the Style Considerations on the TIA website for structure and formatting details. TIA uses APA 7 (see, for example, https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_style_introduction.html)
